Computer science and legal methods for enforcing the personal rights of non-discrimination and privacy in ICT systems

Acronym:
ENFORCE

Research Line:

The greater presence and pervasiveness of ICT in everyday life poses new concerns about personal rights such as non-discrimination and individual privacy. Since these concerns limit the practical applicability and the broad acceptance of advanced technologies, such as decision support systems (DSS) and location-based services (LBS), the diffusion of these applications relies on the existence of technical tools to enforce personal rights. Developing these tools requires a constant reference to what is legal and what is not, in measurable and formal terms.

Rossetti Giulio

I was born 6th October 1984 in Grosseto, Italy.

I'm currently a Computer Science PhD Student (since January 2011). The main research interest, that guide my studies, is related to the analysis of complex networks.

I've got my master degree in Computer Science (at the University of Pisa) the 11th March 2011 and my thesis title was "Link Prediction on Multidimensional Networks".

At the same university, I've started my bachelor study in October 2003 in Computer Science. I've got my bachelor degree in 2007.

Founded by:
European Community, Coordination Action

VisMaster is a European Coordination Action Project focused on the research discipline of Visual Analytics: One of the most important challenges of the emerging Information Age is to effectively utilise the immense wealth of information and data acquired, computed and stored by modern information systems. On the one hand, the appropriate use of available information volumes offers large potential to realize technological progress and business success.

Mobility, Data Mining & Privacy

Acronym:
MODAP
Founded by:
European Community, FP7 Coordination Action
Research Line:

The objective of MODAP and MOVE projects is to stimulate an interdisciplinary research area combining a variety of disciplines such as data mining, geography, visualization, data/knowledge representation, and transforming them into a new context of mobility. MODAP has a particular emphasis on the social impact of privacy on people’s movement behaviour.
