Jose is a PhD student in Data Science at the Scuola Normale Superiore, and a MSC early-stage researcher with the NoBIAS project. His research focuses on developing causal methods for tackling bias in machine learning systems. He holds a MS in Economics (with a specialization in Econometrics and Empirical Economics) from the Toulouse School of Economics, France, and BA (double major) in Economics and History from the University of Florida, USA, where he attended as a Davis UWC Scholar. Prior to the PhD, Jose worked as a Data Scientist for Deloitte Belgium where he focused on developing, testing, and deploying operational and financial risk models. He is originally from Caracas, Venezuela.
