Erica Cau is a Ph.D. student in the National Ph.D. Program in Artificial Intelligence for Society at the University of Pisa and a member of KDD Lab.

Her research interests include detecting and analyzing online discussions to identify the unfolding of polluted environments, such as echo chambers. Her work includes the simulation of the effects of information pollution through Large Language Models.

She holds a Master's degree in Digital Humanities from the University of Pisa. Her Master's thesis focuses on understanding the lifecycle of echo chambers over time and analyzing the discussions of users trapped in them.
