Rossetti Giulio

Giulio Rossetti (Male, Ph.D in Computer Science) is currently a permanent
researcher at the Istituto di Scienza e Tecnologie dell'Informazione “A. Faedo" (ISTI) of the National Research Council (CNR), Pisa, Italy. He is a member of the Knowledge and Data Mining Laboratory (KDD Lab), a joint research group of ISTI-CNR and the University of Pisa.

Giulio holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Pisa (2015), where he also spent his postdoc until 2018. Starting from 2018, he teaches "Social Network Analysis" and "Programming for Data Science" courses within the Master Degrees in "Data Science" and in "Digital Humanities" of the same University. Moreover, since 2015, Giulio acts as teacher/teaching support for several courses (Python Programming, Machine Learning and Data Mining, Visual Analytics, Social Network Analysis) within the 2nd level Master degrees in "Big Data Analytics and Social Mining" offered by the University of Pisa and “MAINS” offered by Sant’Anna. In 2013, Giulio was a visiting scholar at the Pontifical Catholic University in Rio the Janeiro under the supervision of Prof. Marco A. Casanova - within the SEEK Marie Curie project. In 2014, he collaborated as Junior Researcher with the Software Technology and Application Competence Centre (STACC, Estonia) on the analysis of the worldwide contact network of Skype.

Giulio's research activity started in 2011 and centers on the definition of algorithms for complex network analysis and data science. In particular, his recent research focuses on the modeling and study of dynamics of and on network topologies (dynamic community discovery, diffusion/spreading phenomena modeling) and the definition of data-driven models for the forecast of rare events.
