Empowerment of Women for Industry 4.0

The 18th and 19th March 2019 in Livorno the II edition of the course on “Empowerment of Women for Industry 4.0” was held. The focus was on Artificial Intelligence and Emotional Intelligence and about 40 women have decided to devote time to their education and to share their experience in the field of Industry 4.0.

A group of KDD Lab researchers took part to this initiative to share their experience on data mining, machine learning and AI from their point of view. Ioanna Miliou, Letizia Milli, Michela Natilli and Francesca Pratesi presented some of the projects they work on, highlighting the importance of the collaboration between research and industry.

The works presented in fact were mainly the research activities carried out thanks to the support of the Tuscany Region which, together with some industries, has co-financed some scholarships to support research in the industrial world. In fact, it has been seen how both industries and the world of research can benefit from this collaboration: industries have access to the most advanced knowledge of the research world, as well as the research community learns to know and understand the real problems of industry.
